21 Weeks!

If it's not my boops, it's my belly she's after.

How far along: 21 weeks

Total weight gain: 124lbs, up 12 pounds. Sure enough, no weight gain the week before = 2lbs this week.

Maternity Clothes: I'm still hanging out in unbuttoned pants held up by the Bella Band. Going strong.

Best moment this week: Mother's Day :)

Movement: lots of it. Baby girl likes to kick in the same spot all the time, especially in the middle of the night.

Food Cravings: I wouldn't be craving anything if it wasn't for Pinterest. I made a batch of homemade soft pretzels (one of my many food weaknesses) and ate them all within 48 hours. I wasn't hungry. They were just that good.

Sleep: I've accepted the fact that I will never sleep through the entire night ever again.

Milestones: all facial features are formed, baby has started to grow hair and she can suck her thumb and yawn. She's about 7 inches and 11 ounces.

Girl or boy: Girl girl girl!

Random: I am exhausted again. Parker's been fighting the crib and since she flat out refuses to have Kris lay her down I'm always up to bat. Good thing we're moving the crib to the baby's room tomorrow because I think we've both had enough of it.

  1. Homemade soft pretzels...YUM!!!! I would probably eat all of them too and I don't have pregnancy cravings to blame it on.

  2. I think I remember you saying that you were bed-sharing. If that is the case you might want to try moving her to a toddler bed. We bed shared for 18 months (our daughter is just about 19 mos now). I am 27 weeks pregnant and was totally tired of her sleeping with us. We got the toddler bed, splurged on bedding from PBK (duvet and cover) to make it more like Mommy's bed. We also splurged and let her pick out Toy Story sheets. She LOVES her bed. She climbs in without hesitation and getting her down at night is not the fight it was when I was trying to get her in her crib. Totally worth it.

    Just my two cents.

  3. Becca, you're giving me hope that the transition to the toddler bed won't be as bad as I'm imagining it to be. I love the idea about making Parker's bed like our bed. And letting her pick out her own sheets is genius. My plan is to have her out of the crib tomorrow night so FX that it's easy for me like it was for you. I can't deal with the crib fights any longer.

  4. Glad I can offer hope. I was desperate and nothing had worked yet. She has spent all night the last 2 weeks in her bed. She has still gotten up at least one time a night, but she goes back to sleep really easy and usually without my help (I just watch her on the monitor).

I also wanted to add that I ended up giving her my favorite pillow because she loves it. I know they aren't really supposed to have pillows at this point, but my girl is a pillow lover. She climbs in her bed and says "Mommy pillow" and throws her head down on it. I hope that everything goes smoothly and you can get a good nights sleep -- I know that I am finally getting quality sleep that she is not right next to me. :)
