Hearts full of love!

I'm a holiday junkie. Valentine's Day is no exception.

First up was a date day, just me and Kris.  Give us one day to ourselves and we will do it all.  In the span of time from 8am to 4pm we went out for breakfast, caught a movie (American Hustle along with my movie weakness, a blue Icee), went out for lunch, threw footballs, basketballs, and skeeballs at Dave and Busters, and night capped it with a leisurely stroll around Costco (of course we did, it's like my favorite place to shop ever). Oh yeah, and we also stopped in PetSmart to get some vday goodies for Sydney and of course it was pet adoption day.  For the record, I have less than a zero desire to bring another furry creature into this house but man, even I was tempted by those pups! Good thing I didn't have a drink with lunch or I might be out right now walking a little puppy in these frigid temps.

After that, it was home to spend the rest of the day with our littlest Valentines:

Food, more food!

Shoe addiction at age three.  Like mother like daughter.

Parker and Teagan both had big V-day events at school.  Parker--a bring your own lunch for picnic day, V-day box decorating, V-day art, and V-day card exchange. Teagan--a potluck, V-day bag decorating, V-day art, and V-day card exchange. Throw all that V-day candy on top of the Halloween and Christmas sweets that we have yet to get to!

There's not such a thing as too many bubbles! Both girls handed out the same Valentines.  Easy!

P's packed lunch, heart shaped open face grilled cheese included.  No extra bread, no ratio of two slices of bread to one slice of cheese, no way.  Girl knows what she wants.

At home we kept the party going strong.

Balloon sticks, reckless limbs, and little eyes do not mix.  Live and learn.

Mix of some of my fave colors!

Don't all 30 year olds with two little ones drink mustache wine? No?

Girlies also enjoyed the love from Nani and Papi via flower crowns, bath toys and bracelets!

True love!

Another fun holiday under our belts. Next one up--Presidents Day! And yes, that is a legit holiday because this girl has an office with a closed sign on Monday. Kris works though so it's going to be a girls only day.  I see visions of the mall play place and double decker merry go round in our future!

Little goofball Parker!

Teagan at 16 months!

Teagan Noelle is 16 months! And, as most months in the toddler world go, it was filled with milestones.
Uhhhh...where did my baby go?! This girl looks big!

First and foremost, baby girl is walking! Almost the exact day she turned 15 ½ months she switched her mode of transportation from crawling to full blown walking.  As Teagan does, she waited until she was 100% confident in her ability to cross this milestone off her list.  Immediately she walked 20 steps. Then 30. Then 40. Then 72 before I stopped counting.    Since then she is now experimenting with running.  Girl can move!

If you visited our house you would think we lived in a barn due to all of Teagan’s animal noises.  When you ask her what a certain animal says or points to the picture, she’ll respond accurately with a moo, baa, ruff, grrr, who who, cockadoodle doo, etc.  The ruff is spot on.

Dancing may be one of her favorite things to do.  If there’s a song playing on TV, she dances.  If a toy makes noise, she dances.  When she goes into our bedroom she tries to turn on the radio alarm clock and then, she dances.  Parker just outgrew her first pair of tap shoes—those bad boys are surely going to be worn by Teagan soon enough!

Teagan can point to her head, ears, nose, belly, and feet.  Language has exploded and she’s repeating everything.  From fighting words of  nah ni! (not nice!), and MI! (mine!) to ah done (all done), bookie (blankie which she is OBSESSED with and will not let out of her sight), sippy, keese (cheese), belllly, beh-boom (bedroom, where Sydney is banished to when she is misbehaving), Sinee (Sydney).

Budding artist.

Other things:

-Stacking blocks is one of her biggest talents.  She will put one on top of the next until the tower gets taller than she is.

-Sleep is back on track! After three straights months of living in the worst hell imaginable, sleep hell, she decided one night to stay in her crib all night long.  And the next night, and the next night, and so on.

-We’re still on a dairy free after lunch diet and that’s going really well.  Silk almond milk is her main beverage and I was stoked to find dairy free coconut yogurt! Quite the picky little eater, 9 times out of 10 she will eat yogurt so it’s nice to have this dairy free version available for those after lunch meals.

-If you correct Teagan’s behavior, like by saying “not for Teagan,” poor thing just melts down and cries. Such a sensitive little sweetie!

-Elmo.  Loves Elmo.  I’m sure she’s really going to love Elmo even more after our outing to Sesame Street Live this weekend.

I forgot just how much fun this phase is.  Probably my favorite phase so far! Keep staying cute and darling baby Teagan!

The much anticipated day arrived.  Dance class parent observation day.  Today we parents were not subjected to the hard hallway benches with a nice mix of coffee and gossip.  Oh no, today was the day of hard in studio benches with a nice mix of coffee and gossip.  Sign me up week after week for this!

Tap and ballet, following the teachers lead, impromptu hand holding with her dance BFF, waves, grins and thumbs up to me.  Made my Saturday that's for sure.  Kris stayed back with Teagan as she was super sick (but on the mend today) but I, miss video challenged, miss why-did-this-damn &*#%#!!-device not record oh-wait-I-never-hit-play, captured almost the entire class on video, only breaking to take some pics:

Dance BFF.

And I cannot help but share this video of Parker's tip toeing across the room. Making it her own at the end and all :)

I have a couple more posts coming up that I just need to add some pictures too.  Teagan's 16 month post with all her leaps and bounds and our recently booked Disney trip--September at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani Villas!
