2 week postpartum update

2 weeks out and I'm feeling fabulous. No surprise there since I was so miserably uncomfortable the last six weeks of the pregnancy. Mere hours after giving birth I literally did jumping jacks when asked by Kris how I was feeling.

As of today I'm at 119lbs have 7lbs left to burn. I'm supposed to wait 4 weeks to start a workout routine but I may or may not have started toning my abs yesterday (shhhh, don't tell). I'm going to bend the 4 week rule again and start running this weekend. Breaking out the BOB for more than just a power walk will be amazing. I'm looking for tips and tricks and getting my body toned again. Suggestions are welcome for how to reverse this belly flab and get back on track for running more than a mere mile. I've turned my head to all the workout related pins because September seemed so far away but now I'm wishing I paid more attention. Especially to all those photos of chics with crazy toned abs and arms. I need those pictures on my fridge so that I quit eating icing straight from the jar. Oh, and if anyone can tell me where and what workout clothes to buy I'll hug you. I find a cute workout outfit to be the best motivator.

I haven't had even the slightest case of the baby blues, I'm only up twice each night feeding/changing Teagan so I'm pretty well rested, and I'm the most relaxed I've been in a long time. I told Kris during the pregnancy that Teagan's arrival would equal instant relaxation. He laughed sarcastically. Well I was right so who's laughing now ;) Life has slowed down. Since I'm not working I'm not trying to do a million things between Parker's bedtime and midnight. I have ample time to snuggle with my babes and cook/clean/watch trashy shows/mindlessly surf the web during naps.

I am however going stir crazy being stuck in the house. We've taken Teagan to plenty outdoor places (cider mills, the farm, the park, etc) but not to stores. I NEED TO GET OUT. The walls are closing in on me. I muttered to myself the other day, "I have to get out of this house or I'm going to go bonkers." Parker replied, "I wanna go bonkers." Hate to break it to you but when you chase the dog while yelling "I'm gonna measure you!" I think you're already in bonkers-land.

I wanted to take Teagan out asap and Kris wanted to wait. We struck a deal that 2 weeks we'd exit Teagan from her bubble and two weeks was yesterday! I have a big Target trip planned tomorrow that I'm more excited about than I should be. Happy new week all!

  2. You look great!!! I miss those days of being stuck in the house with two babies...they were the best. When they get older everything changes and you'll wish you could stay home and snuggle. I was actually just telling my mom how I wish that I could have a day all day with my kids and nowhere to rush off to. Enjoy this time!!!!!!

  3. You're going to Target??? They have some great new workout clothes. I'm actually working on a post about it. They seriously remind me of Lululemon which is just crazy! I nearly snatched up everything but I had restraint...I had just ordered the new iPhone and I really don't need 4 new running tanks. I believe the line is C9 by Champion. Also, Kohl's has some great stuff too. I did buy a pair of Nike running capris and neon orange Fila shirt last week. There are some cheap but cute options for you!! I did a ridiculous treadmill interval workout tonight that made me want to a die a little bit but at least I did it!

P.S. You look ridiculously good and the girls are too cute for their own good. Kris should start preparing himself. My friends 3 1/2 year old daughter told her dad that she has a bf at preschool and they're going to get married. I think Matt needs therapy, he's devastated!

  4. Awww thanks juulu :) Breastfeeding helped me burn A TON of calories with Parker. If I have the same luck this time I'll be a happy girl. I'm off from work until mid-January. It's going to be crazy with a full time job and two little ones but I like crazy :)

Faye, as long as I can get out of the house at least once a day I'm fine at home the rest of the day. Parker demands to get out too or we see a lot of tantrums. Perhaps that plays a role in me wanting to get out of the house too, lol.

Lindsey, I'm so checking out this Champion line tomorrow. I'll report back. I LOVE your Kohl's finds. You seriously need to be my personal shopper. When Parker was 6 months old Kris walked into daycare to find her in a bouncer next to a boy and they were holding hands. He said she was grounded :) Now before school Parker tells us that she's going to hug and kiss this very same boy. Poor Kris.
