Spring, where are you??

Hi pretty shiny thing!

After a misdiagnosis by the computer repair shop resulting in a $300+ fix the logical decision was to part ways with the old and bring in the new.  I’ll be up and running again in no time! (ps, doesn’t that look like a beer to the left? I wish.  Unfortunately it’s ginger ale.  Sleeping from 930pm Monday to 5pm Tuesday didn’t seem to cure my sickness…)

If everyone says healthy in our house I’ll have some more free time.  Baby Teagan spent the better part of her weekend + Monday puking.

Mere minutes after puking all over the both of us.  In true Teagan fashion she's still happy as a clam.

A trip to the doctor late Monday afternoon and she was basically given a clean bill of health with only teething to blame.

Here's what I think of a 450pm appointment with no doc in sight at 540pm.

Apparently teething produces mucus and breast milk has a mucus producing agent in it.  When you combine the two it causes an uneasy stomach.  Has anyone else experienced this? Parker has only threw up three times in 2 ½ years so this is brand new to me.

Puking is fun, didn't you know!

Even though it was Pukefest 2013 Teagan was in great spirits and I had a nice day cuddling with the babes when I typically would be in the office.  Bubble Guppies, homemade hummus, arts and crafts…I’d say we made the most of our hooky day.

Don't mind me.  I'm unshowered and likely smell of vomit.  The babies, however, make up for my lack of cuteness.
Bottles (filled with water) up.

Parker enjoys singing all day every day. Teagan enjoys pinching her.

Here's to Photoshop up and running again and spring right around the corner.  It has to happen, right? RIGHT?? Positive thinking works wonders.

Coffee drip needed

Oh hai.  Look at us.  We are so cute. You probably can't get enough of this cuteness.  So we'll help you out.  How do you ask? Well for starters I’ll cuddle up thisclosetoyou at night while caressing your face with my feet. Some may call this the ultimate sign of affection.  And you know all that sharing talk we go through every single day? We're putting that talk into practice tonight  It's a two way street so don't you go thinking you’re keeping that pillow all to yourself.  Why do you think pillows are so wide? For two heads, obvi.

And that eyes wide open, huge smile, ready to start the day wakeup call from Teagan at 520am? The  forty minute struggle to get her back down? The fear you felt that when I too woke up? The praying to all things wholly for me not to cry and beg to be picked up as well?  Methodically planned by yours truly.

And just to serve as another reminder of how cute we are we will hold hands.

Enjoy that coffee.  You're going to need it today.

xoxo,
ain't no one got time to sleep through the night

5 Months!

Happy 5 months, Teagan Noelle!

I'm 5 months old already?!
5 months in and we still have the happiest babe on the planet.  At the zoo this past weekend I caught many zoo-goers smiling at Teagan and when I looked at her I saw her smiling right back.  Teagan loves laughing, especially when you eat her belly, and when Parker throws a tantrum which probably fuels the fire even more.

Already looking gansta. Tantrums are close behind.
Sleeping has its peaks and valleys.  Sometimes Teagan only wakes up a couple times a night, sometimes it's more like four or five times.  13/14ish hours of sleep seems to be her sweet spot.  If she gets too many naps during the day she won't sleep as long during the night .  We aim for an 8pm bedtime and 730am wakeup with two to three hours of naps throughout the day.  She's pretty much a cat napper and goes from 1/2 hour to around 1 hour.  Sometimes we're surprised though and she'll take the longest nap.  At daycare one day she slept for 2 1/2 hours straight.  Unheard of! Teagan has stretched her wakey time between naps anywhere from two to four hours.  Quite the difference from the sleepy babe that first month who had 23 1/2 hour shut eye days.

Sleep brings me the happies.

Teagan’s got her hand eye coordination down pat.  It’s amazing to watch her figure out how toys work.  In the picture below she was moving the disks from one side to the other.  When she gets bored with one toy she’s able to walk around the exersaucer to the next one.  Seriously cool stuff.

Feet are Teagan's new toy, she's teething, rolls from belly to back, and enjoys tummy time.  She likes trying to sit up, when Parker sings to her (ADORABLE), and being out and about.  Actually, she enjoys being out a little too much.  It's really hard to get her to sleep when we're in public.  The Ergo is supposed to have magical sleeping powers but all the sights and sounds at the mall/grocery store/zoo trump the carrier.

60 degrees in March. In Michigan.  I speak the truth.
One of my favorite things is seeing how Teagan knows us.  A couple weeks ago Kris got home after Teagan was in bed.  When she stirred and cried I asked him to give her the paci.  Typically we can give her the paci, maybe hold nad sway her for a second, and lay her right back down.  But when Teagan saw it was Kris she stopped crying and was wide eye and happy.  It was the most precious thing to see how excited she was to see her daddy!

Love you to the moon and back sweetie!

**if my pictures look weird it's because my phone doesn't want to properly load them to blogger nor email them right so I have to flip them horizontally in Paint for them not to be upside down?? Craaazy**

February Recap

February started off with a bang.  Eight years ago Kris and I stumbled, quite literally, upon each other thanks to a couple mutual friends, Aquarium’s, and The Pub at Ohio University.  For eight years we’ve celebrated this momentous day.

This year was no different. We ate more than humanly possible at the Melting Pot, indulged in delicious (yet overpriced) drinks, bought my soccer mom SUV, and went bowling.

Yes, please!

Sesame Street Live at the Fox was a complete and utter hit with both babies.  I knew Parker would just die seeing Elmo in the flesh (or fur, rather) but I didn’t think that she would sing, dance, and clap the entire hour and a half.  Even Teagan watched most of the show.  Girlfriend was not about to fall asleep with all the commotion going on.  My camera gear was banned entry.  Apparently it appeared that I was going to take professional photos of SSL , and do what with them is beyond me, but it did not get the nod of approval. So camera phone it was.

Could not look away.

Valentine’s Day was spent at home with my loves.  That husband of mine is a wicked cook.  His specialty is, wait for it…fondue! I made wheat French bread, he made the cheese fondue and shrimp, and we dined.  After the babes were in bed it was fondue round two, chocolate style.  Brownies dipped in chocolate should be a daily occurance!

All of us got hit with something that resembled Norovirus.  The flu now this? Geez, I’m ready for spring. Teagan had a very mild, perhaps not even there case, thank God, but it put Kris and I out of commission for a couple days.  Our computer is still in the shop for repair but thankfully it’s a fixable issue for under $100.  Now I just have to wait for another part to come in since the first was defective and I’ll be able to load my photos once again.

Teagan is five months--recap later and OMG slow down baby!--and Parker is 28 months and at SUCH a fun age.  Fun or pullmyhairoutneedaglasserrbottleofwine depeding on the level of tantrums for the day.

Happy sleeper.

While the tantrums have slowed waaaay down they are still around.  Like if you make a quesadilla for her and cut it up LIKE ALWAYS and she decides that today of all days she doesn't want the quesdilla cut up...watch out.  Or if she asks "where's small blankie?" and you go and find what is in fact a small blankie but it's the wrong small blankie...watch out.  Or if you have asked Parker for an hour if she wants to nap and she finally says yes and gets super excited but then realizes you said nap instead of app (as in, a Kindle app)...watch out. The words "tread lightly" are often mouthed between me and Kris.

So, anyone want to babysit?? Kidding.  Not really.

Hiding from the accusations.
But there's loads of the good stuff.  Parker loves loves loves to sing.  She knows her days of the week thanks to a song from school, loves cleaning up thanks to the clean up song, and sings this good morning song every day all day.  After a bath she loves running around naked and thinks it's the funniest thing.  I bought her a new pair of sandals and it took a lot of explaining over why sandals do not exactly mean that we're going to the beach in February.  She says the cutest things like "that's ridiculous!" and "it's okay, sweetie," and recently she's staring calling Kris "bud." So cute since Kris' family calls him that as well.  She's into dressing herself and finally is great at independent play.

Independent play unless you count baby Stella, baby Cinderella, and random baby.
She also likes to call Sydney Sandy and tries to ride her thanks to Sandy the horse at Meijer.

As Parker would say--"bye bye February! It's March now!"
